In the midst of a disaster, people are focused on survival and evacuation. However, once the storm has passed, there is a critical need for hygiene items. This is often overlooked in relief efforts. Sanitation and hygiene are important for preventing the spread of disease. When people do not have access to clean water or proper sanitation facilities, they are at risk of contracting illnesses. Distributing hygiene kits is one way to help hurricane survivors maintain good hygiene practices.

Myers to work alongside the American Red Cross at the Hertz Arena to provide those displaced by the hurricane with warm showers and hygiene supplies.
