MENSTRUAL HEALTH & HYGIENE
Menstrual Health & Hygiene
To ensure women and girls have the resources they need to stay healthy, stay in school, maintain their jobs, and earn an income, we launch Menstrual Health & Hygiene programs in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. These programs provide ongoing lessons about the importance of menstrual health in schools, clinics, and community centers, to help destigmatize the issues and provide support for women and girls.
In addition, these initiatives train local women to start their own business making reusable menstrual pads. We train the women not only how to make these items, but also how to sell them and successfully operate their own income-generating businesses. This approach ensures the communities have the supplies they need locally to maintain the success of the WASH programs, while also providing dozens of new jobs to bolster the incomes of those most in need within the communities as well.
