Have You Met Veronica?

My name is Veronica and I serve as The WASH Foundation’s Volunteer lead. Along with engaging volunteers in the work we do, I help with warehouse flow and setting up the warehouse for the volunteers every day.

What does your typical day look like?

Every morning I come in and make sure everything is in place for the volunteers when they arrive. That means I make sure all the recycling tables are filled with the hygiene products we receive from hotels to sort through, and there are enough recycling bins around the area for the products we cannot use. I then help our Community Engagement Manager greet our volunteers and continue to help her keep the warehouse running smoothly during volunteer operations. At the end of the day, I refill all the emptied sorting tables and clean the volunteer area for the next day.

What is your favorite part of working at The WASH Foundation?

I personally love seeing the volunteers get excited about our mission! Getting volunteers who feel as passionate about what we do as I do, and then keep coming back, just makes this job so worth it.

What were you doing before?

I worked at a local high school here in Orlando in the cafeteria, and I also worked in a number of Disney properties in the catering business.

Where in the world would you travel to next, and why?

I would really like to visit Hawaii, because I love the beach and the ocean. It’s just seems so peaceful and beautiful there, and I want to experience that.
